In 2017, AIPFE Cyprus joined forces with EY Cyprus to locally re-launch the successful European initiative Women Fit for Business (WF4B) Cyprus.

A scholarship program geared towards unemployed female university graduates under the age of 35, this collaboration aspires to empower, motivate and connect 12 participants through practical training and soft skills that will assist them in their search for employment.

Twelve successful candidates have been selected to embark on a 60-hour, 9-month course, which entails training, mentoring and networking. The program, which commenced in April and will run through to December 2017, covers a wide range of topics, including personal profiling and skills assessment, job search skills, professional development workshops, empowerment through centered leadership, internships and more.

Volunteer trainers, mentors and coordinators include Charalambos Constantinou, EY Cyprus Head of Advisory Services; Peter Lazou, The Founders Institute; Dr. Alexia Panayiotou, Department of Business and Public Administration, University of Cyprus; Avi Peeri, Diplomat Cyprus; Despina Theodossiou, Tototheo Group/ Women’s International Shipping and Trade Association, and clinical psychologist Achilleas Koukkides.

The launching of WF4B coincided with International Women’s Day (IWD) on the 8th of March and EY is proud to return as the campaign sponsor of the IWD global theme, which this year is #BeBoldForChange
