Hosted by AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe and Menopause Support Cyprus The (M) Factor was created by award-winning producers and features renowned medical experts and leading women’s health advocates, with the aim to demystify the experience of perimenopause and menopause and educate & empower women to seek proper healthcare support. It is the first film dedicated to menopause that has earned a CME accreditation to medical providers in the USA (in combination with a live webinar).
The film explores the hidden impact of menopause on women's lives. With 985 million women worldwide currently experiencing menopause, this life stage is often surrounded by silence, shame and misinformation, exacerbating the broader crisis in women’s health. The far-ranging results of women enduring untreated menopause include billions in lost wages, upended careers, family disruptions, and emotional chaos.
Designed for OBGYNs, medical experts, women, and the men who are their partners, colleagues and friends, the (M) Factor sheds light on the often-overlooked physical, emotional and professional impacts of menopause. By providing expert insights and testimonials, the film aims to bridge the knowledge gap and foster greater understanding in both medical and social spaces.
The film is by Emmy-Award-winning filmmaker Jacoba Atlas and executive producers, Emmy Award-winning journalist Tamsen Fadal, Peabody- Award winning film-maker Denise Pines, and Emmy Award-winning producer Joanne LaMarca Mathisen.
